Chilean Gravilate [3] ( lat. Geum quellyon ) is a perennial herbaceous plant of the genus Gravilate of the family Pink ( Rosaceae ).

SpreadBotanical descriptionThe plant is up to 60 cm tall.
Leaves in a basal rosette, unpaired.
The flowers are red up to 3 cm in diameter, collected in panicle inflorescence . It blooms from the end of June for fifty days. Fruits [4] .
Medical UseChilean gravilate is used in traditional Mapuche medicine in Chile to treat toothache, inflammation of the stomach , prostatitis and the regulation of menstruation [5] . The methanol extract obtained from the root of Geum quellyon has an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antitumor effect [6] .
In cultureIt is used in landings and for the design of alpine slides .
In culture since 1824.
Varieties with terry larger flowers are known:
- 'Mr. J. Bradishow' ('Mrs J. Bradshow') - a plant up to 60 cm tall, double flowers, scarlet-orange up to 4 cm in diameter, blooms from July for a month;
- `Lady Stratheden` (` Lady Stratheden`) - yellow flowers;
- 'Goldball' - yellow flowers, blooms from May to August;
- 'Fireball' ('Fireball') - a plant up to 50 cm tall, flowers up to 4 cm in diameter, double, scarlet-orange, blooms from July 45-60 days [4] .
Winter-hardy. Terry varieties are covered with leaves for the winter. It blooms from May to August (depending on variety) [7] .
Used in hybridization .
