Located on the right bank of Kemiyoki , 40 kilometers north of Kemi and 60 kilometers southwest of Rovaniemi . On the opposite bank of Kemiyoki is the Tervola railway station of the Kemi-Rovaniemi line. However, since 2003, trains have not stopped here, and the only bus connection remains.
The main attractions of the commune are three churches : the Old Church - a wooden church of the end of the 17th century , the Tervolskaya Church - also wooden, 1864 and a new one, built in 1974 and also playing the role of the Community Center.
The twin cities of Tervola include Severomorsk ( Murmansk region , Russia ) [2] .
