Show format
Each season America's Next Top Model consists of 9-16 episodes in which 10-16 beginner models take part. In the final of each episode, the jury decides to exclude one of the contestants. On the show in rare cases: two participants are expelled at once, two worst participants are not excluded, and the participants are given immunity against expulsion. From the 13th to the 15th season, a rule was introduced: when there are four girls left, then two are expelled at once. The second part of the show, when there are 5-6 (in some seasons 7 or 8) participants left, takes place outside the USA - in Paris , Milan , Tokyo and other cities.
Since 2011, the format of the show has been slightly changed. The 17th season was shown in the fall of 2011. It was attended by former contestants, most remembered by the audience for past seasons [1] .
At the end of February 2012, the season 18 of the show was released in the USA. It was attended by 7 participants from the UK (former participants in the show "Top Model in British") and 7 participants from the USA [2] .
August 24, 2012 premiere of the 19th season. New judges have appeared this season. A feature of this season was that the winners and losers were chosen by the audience themselves. To keep the intrigue, all the participants of the contest took part in all photo shoots, even those who were expelled at the end of the week.
On August 2, 2013, the show premiered on season 20. This season is called the Battle of the Sexes. A feature of this season was that, along with the girls, guys fought for the title of the best model in America.
The premiere of 21 seasons in the USA took place on August 18, 2014. As in the previous season, girls and boys took part in the show. In season 21, instead of Rob Evans, who left the show, Jay Alexander again appeared in the judicial chair. Instead of Johnny Woodzhek, who also left the show, appeared a popular American photographer of Taiwanese origin Cai Yu.
The premiere of the 22 season in the United States took place on August 5, 2015. The final series fell on the birthday of the creator of the show Tyra Banks - December 4, 2015. The judges of the season were Tyra Banks , Jay Alexander and Kelly Katron . The creative director was Cai Yu. This season, it was decided to abandon the spectators 'vote: judging consisted of assessments for the competition and judges' ratings.
On October 15, 2015, Tyra Banks in her Instagram and Twitter account issued a statement stating that the 22nd season of the show was the last and that at the end of the final episode of the 22nd season of the show “Top Model in American” can be considered officially closed.
According to new data, from the beginning of February, the producers announced that the show will continue, but Tyra will not remain the host, which means that all refereeing and the format of the show will be new. Season 23 will be released around the fall.

In addition to Tyra Banks, the jury consists, as a rule, of well-known persons from the fashion industry. In previous seasons, the judges were designer Kimora Lee Simmons ( season 1 ), editors of fashion magazines Eric Nicholson and Bo Quillian, supermodels Janice Dickinson ( 1-4 seasons ), Twiggy ( 5-9 seasons ) and Polina Porizkova ( 10-12 seasons ), Jay Alexander ( 5-13 seasons ) and permanent judge photographer Nigel Barker ( 2-18 seasons ). From 14 to 17 seasons, the editor of Vogue magazine Andre Leon Talley acts as a judge [4] . Until the 19th season, Jay Manuel was the creative director of photo shoots of novice models. In 19 and 20, Johnny Woodzhek took his place, in the 21 and 22 seasons of Yu Tsai.
In the summer of 2016, it was announced that Rita Ora would be the new host of the show in season 23.
In season 24, Tyra Banks returned to the show as a host.
After an EW interview with Tyra Banks, the presenter said that season 25 would be the last. This will be Part 2 of All Stars.
Show in Russia
The premiere show of America’s Next Top Model tenth season in Russia was held on the Muz-TV channel from February 1 to 19, 2010. The show was called the “Top Model in American Style” [5] . The first seasons of the project are also shown on the Sony Entertainment Television channel.
Russian versions
The first Russian version of the show was broadcast in 2004 on the STS channel under the name “ You Are a Supermodel ”, and Fyodor Bondarchuk became its host. In 2010, the Muz-TV channel decided to launch its own version of the popular television show - " Top Model in Russian " [6] . The premiere took place on April 3, 2011, Ksenia Sobchak was chosen as the host [7] . Janis Dickinson , one of the former judges of America's Next Top Model [8], was an honored guest of the show. Also, the master of gait in the TMPA show, Jay Alexander, also participated in the Top Model show in Russian. Season 4 of the show took place in France, and its host was the Russian supermodel Irina Shayk . The 5th season (“Top Model in Russian. International Season”) was held in Russia in 2014. The leader was the Russian-Italian model and actress Natalya Stefanenko .
