Club
Pupil SDUSHOR number 6 of the city of Grodno . He attracted attention on his performances for the Grodno " Neman ". Then he moved to the Moscow “ Locomotive ”, where he spent several seasons and attracted the attention of Fabio Capello from the Italian “ Roma ”, where he moved in 1999. In the new club, Gurenko faced serious competition for a place with Kafu , Samuel , Candela and Aldair - for the season and a half, he appeared on the field only eight times. As a result, the club decided to give Sergei half a season to the Spanish “ Zaragoza ”, where he managed to immediately gain a foothold in the composition and win the Spanish Cup. Then Gurenko returned to Italy - this time to Parma , where he also couldn’t play, so he went to Piacenza , where he finally managed to become a base player - in the Italian championship he spent 25 games and scored one goal into the goal “ Milan ”, however, the club flew into Serie B. Therefore, Gurenko leaves Italy and returns to Lokomotiv, with whom in 2004 he became the champion of Russia. In 2009, Gurenko stopped falling into the coach’s plans and was forced to move to Dynamo Minsk [3] , while the UnitedSouth association of Lokomotiv fans recognized Sergey as the best football player of the 2008 season. In the Belarusian club, the player ended his career in 2009, moving to a coaching post.
In 2014, 41-year-old Gurenko held seven games for Minsk Partizan in the second league of Belarus . He made his debut on April 27 in the away match of the 1st round against FC Kletsk (3-0) [4] .

He made his debut for the national team of Belarus on May 25, 1994 in a friendly game with Ukraine (1: 3). Coaching

Having decided to continue his coaching career, Gurenko returned to Russia and entered the coaching staff of Krasnodar [13] , which he left after the dismissal of Slavolyub Muslin [14] . Since February 2014, he was the coach of the Spartak-Nalchik club [15] , in July of that year he became the head coach of Amkar at the headquarters of Slavolyub Muslin. Gurenko later followed Muslin to the Belgian Standard , where both worked for 3 months [16] .
At the beginning of January 2016 he headed the double of Minsk Dynamo [17] . In May 2016, he also became an assistant to Slavoljub Muslin in the Serbian national team [18] .
In May 2017, he was appointed acting head coach of Dynamo (Minsk) [19] .
