Club career

Sasha Riter began his club career in 1987 at the Kübach Club (now Kübach-Reichenbach). In 1995, Riter left the Kübach and switched to playing Offenbürger , from which he went to Freiburg in 1998.

After playing in the youth team of Freiburg, Riter moved to the professional part of the club. His debut as a professional footballer took place in the second Bundesliga in the 2002/03 season, in a match against the Alemania club. The match ended with the victory of Freiburg 1-0, and Riter spent all 90 minutes on the field [2] . He scored his first goal as a professional football player on August 2, 2003, in a game against Bayer , which Freiburg lost 1-4 [3] .

Despite a contract with Freiburg until 2009, in 2007 Riter moved to Wolfsburg, where he usually played as a right-handed midfielder.

In 2011, Rieter became a player in Cologne [4] . For the 2012/13 season, Riter was leased to Fulham . In May 2013, the London club bought the player [5] .

In June 2014, Rieter returned to Freiburg [6] . In July 2015, Riter signed a contract with Schalke 04 under the 1 + 1 scheme [7] . On May 18, 2019, Riter replaced the match with Stuttgart (0-0), which was his first appearance in an official match in two years and the last in his career [8] . At the end of the 2019/20 season, he completed his career and transferred to the position of coordinator of the main Schalke team [9] .

Team Career

Sasha Riter began to play regularly in the German youth team with players under the age of 14. In 2004, he joined the team until the age of 21, where in many matches he was the team captain. He took part in the 2006 European Championship.
