Saspeirs , Saspeirs or Sasperas ( Georgian სასპერები [Sasperby]) - According to one version, the ancient Georgian tribes [3] [4] [5] , according to another hypothesis, they are also considered to be Scythians by origin [6] , mentioned by Herodotus and placed between the lands of the Medes and kolkhov [7] . In the VI century BC. e. were conquered by the Achaemenid empire and, together with part of other Hurrian (Alarodia), possibly Luvian (Matian) and South Kartvelian tribes, made up its 19th satrapy . After the fall of the invaders, they formed the core of the Iberian state [8] .

Title

The name of this tribe is of Scythian origin and was formed with the help of the Georgian prefix of the place -Sa. In ancient Greek sources, this tribe is called "Suspeira." [9] [10]
