Biography

The future poet did not have a chance to attend school, he studied independently. Here's how he describes those events:

I was born on the 3rd of May of the month of 1881. When I was 11 years old, in 1892 my father Grigory Gerasimov died leaving me an orphan. Before his death, he punished me: “Well, son, I am dying. Kiss on my chest, listen to what I say to you: I bless you! I die without learning to read and write. You try to learn, strive for smart people. Do not steal, if you find a thing, find out whose it is, return it to the owner; you will not be enriched with it " " [2]

Nikolay Grigoryevich did not change his father’s blessing: he didn’t have a school in his native village, for 2 weeks he attends a school in the village of New Buyanovo for 15 kopecks, but his orphan life forces him to interrupt his studies. Still, reaching for knowledge, Mikulai independently masters literacy.

Later, his life was associated with various activities: he works as a church watchman, miner, serves in the tsarist army, and participates in the First World War . In 1918 , returning to his native village, he became the secretary of the village council, in the hunger years he worked in the Chernigov orphanage, then worked at a construction site, at school.
