Story
Lord of the Titans Kronos gathers an army and prepares to attack Olympus. The gods and heroes gather their forces to repel the attack. Percy Jackson and Charles Beckendorf, son of Hephaestus, embark on a desperate trip to the Princess Andromeda cruise ship, where Kronos is headquartered. But everything is not going according to plan: Kronos becomes aware of the plan of the demigods from his spy in the Half-Blood Camp, and he is ready for the visit of the heroes. Falling into the insidious trap of titanium, Bekendorf dies, but before his death he manages to blow up the Princess Andromeda. Percy miraculously manages to survive, thanks to the protection of the ocean. In the underwater kingdom of Poseidon, where Percy gets after the explosion, things are even worse - the lord of the seas is forced to defend his home from the titan of the Ocean, which, at the instigation of Kronos, is waging war on Poseidon. In the depths of the sea, a serious battle takes place between monsters and newts. Meanwhile, Kronos rescues from Tartarus the father of all monsters - the giant Typhon, who threatens to destroy all the United States, moving towards New York and destroying cities on his way. All Olympic gods come out to fight Typhon, and Percy Jackson realizes that Olympus remains defenseless before Kronos. Half-bloods face a difficult task - to defend Olympus instead of their divine parents.
The war is coming against Kronos, and Percy Jackson is about to turn sixteen. And this means that a great prophecy said by the Delphic oracle will come into force. And Percy finally finds out its entirety:
Half-blood of the oldest gods in the world
He will live to be sixteen ...
The world will fall into a dream as if drunk
The hero’s soul will be taken by a cursed blade.
And his end awaits when he makes a choice,
Saving Olympus or condemning to death.
It seems to the hero that this prophecy says that he must inevitably perish, saving Olympus and this does not give him self-confidence. He begins to think more and more often - but do the Olympic gods deserve the fate that Kronos dooms them to? At the camp, Percy meets Hades' son, Nico di Angelo, who again asks Percy to agree to his plan. The plan, thanks to which Percy could equalize in strength with Kronos. But Percy Nico does not like the idea. And yet, after a long argument, he agrees, and together they go to Luke's mother, May Castellan. According to the son of Hades, Percy must understand the past of Luke in order to obtain the necessary knowledge to defeat Kronos. It turns out that May Castellan, the mortal wife of Hermes, once lost her mind when she began to pursue visions about the fate of her son. Frightened by this, Luke ran away from home, deciding that he had lost the remains of his family in his mother. Percy also learns that Luke also swam in the waters of Styx and acquired invulnerability, which Kronos used to invade the body of the demigod. Upon arriving in the Kingdom of the Dead, Hades deceives Nico to bring Percy to him and imprison the hero in his casemates. The deceived Percy blames Nico for everything, but for the son of Hades, the actions of his father are also a surprise. He organizes an escape for a friend. They run through the entire palace of Hades to the river Styx. Nico's plan is that Percy must plunge into the waters of Styx, as the hero Achilles did in antiquity, and receive invulnerability. On the shore, Percy meets the spirit of Achilles and he warns him that this is very dangerous. Indeed, the invulnerability of Achilles did not extend to his heel, from which he died from a wound. Percy nevertheless agrees to a dangerous experiment and plunges into Styx. Only enormous willpower and thoughts about Annabeth prevented Percy from dissolving into the black waters of the underground river. And yet he gets invulnerability and a weak spot at the base of the lower back. Hades sends a pursuit of the demigods and himself becomes its leader. Then Percy has to use his invulnerability and he single-handedly deals with all the soldiers of Hades, and knocks down God himself. Now he understands the advantage that he received thanks to the waters of Styx.
Less and less time remains before the invasion of Kronos in New York. The gods continue to fight Typhon, who, assuming the form of a terrible hurricane, devastates state after state. Soon he will get to New York, and then Olympus will fall. Meanwhile, the city is surrounded by the temporary magic of Kronos, and all New Yorkers fall asleep under the spell of the sleep god Morpheus, who has crossed over to the side of the titans. Half-breeds organize resistance and build defensive units near all the passages into the city. All the statues of the city that turned out to be the automatons of Daedalus come to life. Only the children of Ares do not participate in the defense, after being wounded by the children of Apollo, Clarissa La Roux refused to participate in the war. Kronos and his army of monsters are already approaching the city, and the half-breeds enter into a desperate battle. New York is blazing; heroes, reflecting the onslaught of monsters, are simultaneously trying to save the sleeping mortals. Kronos and his squad meet resistance led by Percy on the Williamsburg bridge. Percy converges in a fight with the Minotaur, which he had already defeated once, when he was twelve. And this time the Minotaur was defeated, and Kronos was next in turn. During the battle, the bridge collapses, cutting off the passage to the city by the offensive forces.
While New York is at war, Percy's friend Rachel Elizabeth Dar interrupts her vacation with her parents and decides to come to the aid of a friend. She feels that in this war she is assigned not the last role and wants to be there when her help is needed. And a messenger from Kronos, the rebellious titan Prometheus, comes to the camp, defeated by the surviving half-bloods in New York. He offers Percy to surrender and promises that in this case his lord will not touch the city. Percy refuses and receives a gift from the titan Pandora's box - a jug from which Pandora once released the troubles of the whole world. Only Hope remained in the pitcher, and Prometheus tells Percy that as soon as he releases Hope, Kronos will know that the hero has surrendered.
And events on the battlefield are becoming increasingly threatening. Kronos sends a monster after a monster to the heroes, half-breeds suffer losses, but they continue to fight bravely. Some mortals who woke up from Morpheus’s dream also enter the battle. Suddenly, the children of Ares come to the rescue, who, contrary to expectations, is not led by Clarissa, but the daughter of Aphrodite and the girlfriend of the deceased Beckendorf Silen Borgard. Silena is desperately trying to defeat the Lydian serpent, but loses and dies. Before her death, the girl admits that she was a spy of Kronos in the camp and repents. Half-breeds forgive her and bury her as a hero.
Typhon is almost off the coast of New York, and the gods are running out of power. Hades sits in his underground kingdom, believing that the gods will get what they deserve for humiliating him when they sent him to rule the dead. With him is his wife Persephone and mother-in-law Demeter. Nico tries in vain to call his father to prudence and persuades to help the god-brothers. When Hades refuses, Nico himself enters the battle, summoning a legion of the dead. Chiron comes to the rescue with an army of centaurs and the advantage in battle goes to the side of the half-bloods. And when Hades agrees to help, the heroes realize that victory is about to come for them.
In the heat of battle, Kronos manages to break through to the Empire State Building, and he rises to the six hundredth floor of the skyscraper where Olympus is located. The abode of the gods is in a deplorable state. Defeated in the battle with Typhon, the gods are weakening, and Olympus is on the verge of destruction. Kronos and Efan Nakamura, the son of the goddess of vengeance Nemesis, who continues to faithfully serve the titan, smash the temples of the gods, thereby weakening their power. Percy, Annabeth, Grover and Thalia rush after him to enter the final battle with the lord of the titans. And Percy understands that a little more and the prophecy will be fulfilled.
The final duel of Kronos in the body of Luke and Percy Jackson takes place in the throne room of the main temple of Olympus. In the last minutes of the war Hestia, the patroness of the hearth, the youngest goddess and the last Olympian, who depended more than anyone could imagine, makes itself felt. Kronos seems almost invulnerable, but Annabeth realizes that Luke's mind is still struggling with the consciousness of the titan. The girl calls to a friend, reminding him that he promised to become a family for her and broke his word. Luka manages to get the better of Kronos and he understands what troubles he did because of his cowardice and anger. He asks Percy to give him a chance to fix it. Percy gives Luke the battle knife Annabeth, and the son of Hermes plunges it into his armpit, where there was his weak spot. Thus the prophecy is fulfilled. Kronos kills Luke himself, at the cost of his own life. Typhon is defeated by Poseidon, who came to the aid of the brothers after the battle with the Ocean. The surviving monsters of Kronos run away. The spell over New York is dispelled.
Heroes gather on Olympus. The gods reward Percy and his friends. Annabeth becomes the chief architect of Olympus. The Grover gains a seat on the Goat-footed Council and succeeds the god Pan. And Percy receives an offer to become an immortal god, which he refuses (because of Annabeth). Instead, he asks for another favor, and the gods agree to do it. From now on, all gods will recognize their children, wherever they are, they will see them and help them, and all half-breeds doomed to loneliness without their divine parents will have to move to the Half-Blood Camp. The gods, although reluctantly, agree. Thus the gods began to recognize their children and reckon with them. Luke is buried as a hero, because at the last moment of his life he atoned for his guilt and committed the hero’s deed by killing Kronos.
Later in the Half-Blood Camp, Rachel Elizabeth Der assumes the duties of the new Oracle and utters a new great prophecy:
Seven half-breeds will answer the call,
In fire and storm, the world perishes again.
Keep an oath on the edge of the grave
Enemy powers go to the Gates of death.
No one knows what a new prophecy means and when it will be fulfilled. But no one wants to know, because the half-breeds have finally gotten their lives together. New children of the gods come to the Camp, Percy Jackson started dating Annabeth Chase and everything fell into place again.
