“Man from the West” ( English man of the West ; 1958) is a feature film, the last work of Anthony Mann in the Western genre. Based on the novel by Will Brown. Upon leaving the screen, it went almost unnoticed, although Jean-Luc Godard named him among the best films of the year. Over the years, received the status of a cult, is recognized as an exemplary western and one of the best works of Mann.

Story
Link Jones gets on the train to find a teacher for a small town in the West. The train is attacked by robbers from the gang that Link once belonged to. Together with fellow travelers - a cheater and a singer - Link falls into the hands of former comrades and pretends to want to return to the gang.
