Castney

Castnius [1] ( lat. Castniidae ) - a family of insects from the order Lepidoptera , numbering about 200 species . The main place of distribution is the neotropical region , but they also live in Australia and Southeast Asia . Size medium to very large butterflies. Usually, the color of the hind wings is bright. The antennae are club-shaped. Active during daylight hours. Often they are mistaken for butterflies . Castnia caterpillars can often be seen on the roots of epiphyte and monocotyledonous plants .
