Sports Biography
At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, he took 11th place in the Mogul. Winner of the 2008/2009 World Cup in freestyle in general and in the mogul in particular. During his career, he won 18 stages of the World Cup - 12 in the Mogul and 6 in the parallel Mogul. He won his first victory in the Mogul at the World Cup on January 7, 2006 in Canada at the age of 18.
The gold of 22-year-old Bilodo at the Olympics in Vancouver was the first Olympic gold for Canada to be won at the Olympic Games on its territory, until then neither the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal nor the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, the owners of the Gold Medal Games won. In general, Bilodo's gold became the third freestyle for Canada - in 1994, Jean-Luc Brassard won the mogul (it was this victory that inspired Alexander to study the mogul), and in 2006 Jennifer Hale won the gold in the mogul.
At the Olympic Games in Sochi, he became the first freestyler in history to win two Olympic golds. In the finals, Alexander was ahead of the 2013 world champion in the mogul of his compatriot Michael Kingsbury and Russian Alexander Smyshlyaev.
Personal life
Father is Serge, mother is Sylvie. Frederic Bilodo's elder brother (two years older than Alexander) was diagnosed with cerebral palsy , and it was predicted that he would not be able to walk at age 12, but Frederic still retained this opportunity. Alexander calls Frederick his hero along with the Olympic champion in the mogul, Jean-Luc Brassard. The first person to personally congratulate Alexander on his victory in the Mogul at the Games in Sochi right after the finish was his brother. Alexander also has a younger sister, Beatrice.
As a child, Alexander was engaged in hockey and still loves this sport.
