Description
Canon EF 24-70 mm f / 2.8 L USM is mainly used by experienced and professional photographers . Like its predecessor, the Canon EF 28-70 mm f / 2.8 L USM, this lens has the deep contrast, color reproduction and sharpness inherent in all L-series lenses. The lens is equipped with a seal to protect it from dust and water, but it is not completely waterproof. The optical system includes an 8-blade aperture, the aperture of which remains almost round when the relative aperture changes from 1: 2.8 to 1: 5.6, and the background blur outside the focus area is improved. The optical design of the EF 24-70 mm f / 2.8 L USM lens uses the UD lens (with ultra-low dispersion ), which compensates for chromatic aberrations that occur when shooting with the smallest focal length. The minimum focusing distance is 0.38 m. The kit comes with an EW-83F hood and a soft case.
One of the features of the Canon EF 24-70 mm f / 2.8 L USM and Canon EF 28-70 mm f / 2.8 L USM is that their frame lengthens with a decrease in focal length. At maximum focal length, they are compact in size, while most other lenses show the opposite. Since the hood is attached to the base of the lens, this allows you to correctly change the area of overlap of the hood depending on the focal length.
Canon EF 24-70 mm f / 2.8 L USM II
In 2012, the Canon EF 24-70 mm f / 2.8 L USM II was introduced to replace the first lens variant. The new lens differs from the previous one in higher optical quality, greater sharpness (according to some data, equal to or greater than the sharpness of many lenses with a fixed focal length) [1] . The diaphragm is 9-bladed instead of the 8-bladed in the old version; The “zoom” is not reversible (the length of the lens increases with increasing focal length, using a short lens hood instead of a deep lens). The weight of the new lens is 805 g, which is 145 g less than its predecessor, the design has more plastic elements. Thread for filters with a diameter of 82 mm, plastic. In addition, in 2012 another version of the zoom lens with a focal length range of 24-70 mm was released - EF 24-70mm f / 4L IS USM.
