Richmond Olympic Oval

Richmond Olympic Oval is one of the stadiums that hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics . Located in the city of Richmond ( British Columbia , Canada ), on the banks of the Fraser River. The arena has an oval shape and is covered by a roof with trusses of glued wooden beams .

History

Construction of the rink began in 2006.

A year before the Olympics in March 2009, the world championship in speed skating at individual distances was held at the rink.

At the end of the Olympic Games, the rink was converted into a multi-sports complex.
