Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (NLH, Rus. Newfandland and Labrador Heidro ) is a crown company owned by the government of Newfoundland and Labrador . It was founded in 1954 for the production (mainly at hydroelectric power plants) of the necessary province of electricity.

Activities
It has an installed capacity of 7,289 megawatts , which is produced by 10 hydroelectric power stations , one thermal power station for oil , four with a gas turbine and 26 power stations on fuel oil . It produces and transports 80% of the energy consumed in the province and directly supplies 35,000 customers in isolated areas.
NLH owns a 65.8% stake in Churchill Falls (Labrador) Corporation (CF (L) Co), the owner of a hydropower plant near Churchill Falls on Labrador. Hydro-Québec buys almost all the products of this 5428 MW power plant under a long-term contract that expires in 2041.
