History
The volost was formed by the merger of the Chernokovsky volost and parts of the Lakomobud , Novorop and Velikotopal volosts.
In 1929 , with the introduction of the district division, the volost was abolished, and on its territorial basis the Klimovsky district of the Klintsy district of the Western region (now part of the Bryansk region ) was formed.
