Abu Yakub Yusuf ibn Abdul-Mumin ( 1135 - July 29, 1184 ) is the second emir from the Almohad dynasty.

Yusuf began his reign in 1163, he inherited the throne of his father Abd al-Mumin . In 1170, he invaded the interior of the Iberian Peninsula, captured Andalusia and devastated Valencia and Catalonia . In 1171, Yusuf made Seville his capital. In the city, he ordered the construction of bridges and moorings on the Guadalquivir River . In addition, he began the construction of a water supply system, two fortresses, a mosque and several other objects. In addition, Yusuf fortified the city walls and built the fortress of Alcalá de Guadaira.
In 1184, Yusuf invaded Portugal and besieged King Afonso I in Santarem . However, the latter came to the aid of his son-in-law, King Leon Ferdinand II , in the battle with whom Yusuf died on July 29, 1184 .
