Biography
Petr Petrovich Glebov was born on April 14, 1915 in Moscow. Comes from an old noble family of the Glebovs .
In 1931 he graduated from the School-Commune number 32 named. P. N. Lepeshinsky in Moscow, in 1935 - Brasovsky meliorative-road technical school. In 1935–1936 he worked as a hydraulic engineer of the Bogucharsky district land administration.
In 1937–1940 , he studied at the KS Stanislavsky Opera and Drama Studio in Moscow, where he studied under M. N. Kedrov .
The older brother of Peter Glebov, Gregory , by this time left the profession of an engineer and began working with KS Stanislavsky , helping him in the work of the Opera and Drama Studio created in 1935 . Gregory, knowing his brother's dream about the acting profession, strongly recommended Peter to come to Moscow in June to take the entrance exams at the Studio. Peter Glebov did just that. However, before submitting documents to the Studio, a problem arose: it was necessary to fill out a questionnaire and answer the question about social origin. Grigory Glebov insisted on indicating in the questionnaire - from the peasants . But Maria Alexandrovna, the mother of the Glebov brothers, sharply protested:
- Peter, write from the nobility ! Firstly, it is true, secondly, I was deprived of the right to vote and everything else. And it passed. But most importantly, my son, you are a nobleman!
There were no problems with the questionnaire, and Peter Glebov passed the exams. By the way, Konstantin Sergeevich Stanislavsky and his wife - Maria Petrovna Lilina were in the selection committee.Peter Glebov: So my fate was decided. I enjoyed learning the acting skills of a comic role in the KS Stanislavsky Opera and Drama Studio. We were taught wonderful "old men" - Leonidov , Orlov , Lilina , Androvskaya , Kedrov and, of course, Stanislavsky himself. His daily lessons are the most important things that I learned in the Studio. He instilled in me faith in his method, in his system. And if I achieved something in my artistic life, thanks to the fact that I always remembered the precepts of my beloved teacher, the scene reformer [2] .
Since 1941 - actor of the Opera and Drama Studio of K. S. Stanislavsky (since 1948 - Moscow Drama Theater named after K. Stanislavsky ).
With the beginning of the war, a volunteer went to the front. He served in the anti-aircraft artillery regiment, which protected the western sector of the Moscow region from enemy aircraft: Ochakovo , Peredelkino , Vnukovo Airport. During the service, thanks to the proximity of Moscow, with the permission of the command, he played in the theater along with other fighting actors [2] .
After the war he returned to the theater, where he played until 1969. He participated in the performances of The Three Sisters by A. P. Chekhov , The Days of the Turbins by M. A. Bulgakov , The Salem Witches by A. Miller and others.
In the workbook of the actor, filled head. the personnel department has a record: “The total work experience for hire before entering the KS Stanislavsky Theater is 2 years. Confirmed by documents. State Opera and Drama Theater. Kc. Stanislavsky. 1937.IX.1. Enrolled as a drama artist. Etc. 99 from 01.IX.1937
Since 1940, acted in films. The first role that goes beyond the episode, played in a small anti-alcohol film-poster "I do not remember anything" ( 1954 ).
The best work of the actor in cinema was the role of Grigori Melekhov in the film adaptation of M. Sholokhov ’s novel The Quiet Don , created by director S. Gerasimov in 1957-1958.
Since 1969 - in the troupe of the Studio Theater actor .
