Successfully performed in youth competitions: champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( 1957 and 1958 ); in the championship of Yugoslavia 1960 - 2nd place. In the championships of Yugoslavia (best results): 1970 - 1-2nd, 1975 - 1st, 1978 - 3-4th, 1981 - 2nd, 1984 - 2-3rd places.

Winner of FIDE Zone Tournaments: Prayadi Rocha (1978) and Becic (1981). Participant in interzonal tournaments: Rio de Janeiro ( 1979 ) - 13-14th; Moscow ( 1982 ) - 10-11th; Syrac ( 1987 ) - 11-12th places. As part of the national team of Yugoslavia, he participated in several European championships and a number of olympiads ( 1974 - 1990 ).

The best results in international tournaments: Vinkovci (1970) - 5th; Skopje ( 1971 ) - 2-3rd; Vrnyachka Banya ( 1973 ) - 1st; Vrsac (1973) - 3-5th; Bielina (1973) - 2-3rd; Reykjavik (1974) - 3-4th (with D. Bronstein ); Novi Sad ( 1976 ) - 2nd; Osijek (1978) - 3-4th; Smederevska-Palanka (1979) - 2nd; Borovo ( 1980 ) - 2-3rd; Zemun (1980) - 1-2; Banja Luka (1981 and 1985 ) - 3-4th; Vinkovci (1982) - 3-5th; Titograd (1984) - 1st; Vrsac (1985 and 1987) - 1st and 1-2th places.
