It is the administrative center of the Chkalovsky village council, which, in addition, includes the villages of Gavrilovka , Nikolaevka , New Gnilitsa and the village of Doslidnoe .

Geographical position
The urban-type village of Chkalovskoye is located on the right bank of the Shnur Stav , the village of Gavrilovka is upstream at a distance of 1 km, and the village of Novaya Gnilitsa is located downstream at a distance of 1 km. At the stake made several large dams. The village adjoins the village of Doslidnoe .
History
The village of Chkalovskoye was founded in 1929 in connection with the creation of state farm No. 5 here [2] .
In 1934, a school was opened in the village.
During the Great Patriotic War in 1941-1943, the village was under German occupation , during which in October 1941 a concentration camp for Soviet prisoners of war was created here [2] .
In 1966, the population was 1,080 people, a state farm number 5 (which had 7.5 thousand hectares of agricultural land) and a state farm number 7, as well as a secondary school, eight-year school, three primary schools, two libraries , a club with 170 seats, a stadium and a sports ground [2] .
In 1977 - assigned the status of urban-type settlement .
In January 1989, the population was4617 people [3] .
In July 1995, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a decision on the privatization of the state farm located here [4] .
According to the 2001 census, the population was 4139 people , as of January 1, 2013 - 3982 people [5] .
In 2014, the village began to develop actively, new stores appeared and improved street lighting.
