The Persian War Medal is a state award of the Russian Empire . The establishment of the medal was associated with the end of the Russian-Persian war , which took place in 1826-1828.

Basic Information
The medal "For the Persian War" was established on March 15, 1828 by Emperor Nicholas I [1] [2] .
Award Order
A medal was awarded to all those who took part in the Russian-Persian war (1826-1828) . All generals , officers and lower ranks were awarded, both combatant and non-combatant [2] [3] . The deadline for submitting applications for awarding was set: September 1, 1832 [2] [4] .
Medal Description
The medal was made of silver . Diameter 25 mm. On the front side of the coin in the center is two lines of the date of the three years of the war: “ 1826, 1827, 1828. ” Along the side of the coin are two ribbon-shaped laurel branches. In the upper part of the front side is the image of the all-seeing eye of the Lord , surrounded by radiance. On the back there is an inscription in three lines: “ FOR THE PERSIAN WAR. ". Under the inscription is a curved line [2] [5] .
A total of 30,000 medals were minted. The coinage was made at the St. Petersburg Mint [2] . The medal has coinage options that differ in details, and there is also a variant of the coin with a diameter of 22 mm [1] . There are also froch versions of medals with a diameter of 12 mm [6] .
Wear Order
The medal had an eyelet for attaching to a block or ribbon. The medal should be worn on the chest. Ribbon medals - combined St. George - Vladimir [1] [2] ․
