Description

Butterflies of small (in the Palearctic) and medium sizes, as a rule, are lightly colored. Antenna with various types of maces. All radial veins have a common trunk. Three veins (R1, R2, R3) extend to the costal margin of the fore wing, R4 extends to the apex, and R5 extends to the outer margin. On the hind wing, the radial vein Rs and the medial vein M1 share a common trunk [1] .

Neotropics (most of the species), the Nearctic (1 species) and the Palearctic (1 genus Leptidea is represented).
