History
Prehistoric Times
On the territory of the modern city lived the ancient Norwegians, who came here, as expected, approx. 12,000 years ago. It is also assumed that in the nearby cave of Svarthola ( Nor Svarthola ) (otherwise - Visteholo ( Nor Vistehålå )) from 6000 BC lived a group of 25 people. These people were mainly gatherers and hunters, but from the period of approx. 4000 BC they began to engage in animal husbandry, and from 2000 BC it became their main occupation.
Coat of Arms
The appearance of the coat of arms of Randberg dates back to our time. It was approved on June 26, 1981. The emblem depicts 14 coins on a blue background. The edges of the coat of arms are rounded from the bottom, because the word "rond", from which the name of the city came ( Nor. Randaberg ), means "edge, edge", and the coins are located just on the edges of the coat of arms. Coins symbolize rounded stones, which were found in large quantities on the beach in the city. [3]
