Finds
In 1943, in Gjermundbu (Gjermundbu I) in one of the mounds (Gjermundbu I), a rich burial site of the Vikings (X century), discovered according to the rite of cremation, was discovered. A sword, spears and a helmet with a half mask were found in the mound [2] . The helmet from Gjörmundby is distinguished by the hemispherical shape of the bell and the half mask covering the upper part of the face. Although the helmet from Gjörmundby dates back to the 10th century, it is considered to be made in the tradition of the earlier Vendelian helmets , which after the 10th century had no continuation [3] .
