Parking heater

• A diesel generator that supplies a car or other vehicle with the necessary energy when the main engine is turned off. At the same time, both electric heaters and the heat generated by the engine can be used to heat habitable rooms. In civilian technology there is practically no use (with the exception of certain types of special transport), its main use is tanks , armored vehicles , air defense fighting vehicles, and the like.
• Autonomous oven - is a metal stove type " stove ", installed in the vehicle. It is widely used in emergency vehicles and buses. Convenient in that it does not consume the energy of the battery. It can work both on wood and on liquid fuel.
• “Dry autonomy” - atmospheric air heated by a burner operating on regular vehicle fuel is supplied to the cabin with the help of an electric fan . According to this principle, the regular heater of the Zaporozhets car and the additional heater of the Ikarus bus interior worked. OV-65 and OV-95 diesel fuel heaters were developed for bodies of KUNG- type military vehicles. A heater with a similar operating principle is installed on Mi-8 type helicopters .
• “Wet autonomy” - here it is not the air that is heated by the burner but the working fluid of the engine cooling system, and the heat is transferred to the salon by the standard heating system. According to this principle, most of the parking and additional heaters of modern vehicles work. On modern cars with high-performance internal combustion engines, their heat in some modes is not enough for normal heating of the passenger compartment, so the “wet battery” is also used as a regular heating system.

First of all, the parking heater is dangerous when illiterate "home" installation. There have been many cases of ignition of tractors , in which the “autonomous vehicle” was installed in artisanal conditions by the hands of truckers themselves. Also, the heater can be dangerous when used for other purposes. Parking heater installed in the "factory" conditions, if it is in good condition, does not pose a danger.

Exhaust gases of autonomous heaters are also dangerous due to their toxicity. Therefore, it is prohibited to use autonomous heaters in enclosed spaces. In frosty, windless weather, exhaust gases can accumulate around the car and in the open parking lot.

The burner of the autonomy is cleaned like a regular stove with a rag. It will be difficult to clean the cases of contamination with low-quality fuel with your own hands, especially the fuel supply nozzle into the burner. At positive temperatures, paraffin-containing diesel fuel is not dangerous, but at temperatures below zero it can cause a complete failure in operation.
