Necrophagist (from the Greek "the eater of the dead" [1] ) is a musical collective playing in the style of technical death metal with elements of progressive . It was founded in 1992 in Germany.

History
The idea of ββcreating the group belongs to the Turkish-German virtuoso guitarist Muhammad Suichmez and his two like-minded people. The band with the grim name Necrophagist was founded in early 1992. The creators' goal was to combine grindcore , death metal and prog metal . Shortly after the group formed, they sat down in the studio and recorded their first, never-known, Demiems of Festered Gore demo. The band's first major release was Onset Of Putrefaction's debut album, released in 1999 via Willowtip Records. Muhammad Sweichmez recorded all the vocals on this album, and also produced completely drums and almost all guitar and bass riffs. Only some bass parts were recorded by one of the founders of the group - Jochen Beetmann, and in addition, BjΓΆrn Vollmer participated in the recording of part of the solo from the song βExtreme Unctionβ. Onset Of Putrefaction features brutal death metal lyrics typical of brutal death metal, the use of exclusively growl as vocals, extremely complex drums with a constantly intermittent rhythm, blast beat, as well as long guitar solos that are extremely technical, which indicates high professionalism musicians.
