Volkswagen Touran

The release of this compact van in Germany started in February 2003.

The car is built on the platform of the Volkswagen Golf fifth generation . It uses a new rear axle with four-link wheel suspension and an electromechanical power steering.

In 2003, a 1.6 FSI gas engine and two diesel engines, 1.9 TDI with 74 kW (101 hp, 99 hp) and 2.0 TDI 103 kW (140 hp) were installed on the Touran. ., 138 h.p.). In December 2006, the CrossTouran minivan crossover was presented at the Bologna Motor Show (Italy). The modification design was developed at Volkswagen Individual GmbH. CrossTouran differs from the standard Touran in 17-inch alloy wheels, remade plastic protective devices that are common for crossovers, and a 15 mm (0.59 in) chassis, which is just an option for a standard Touran in Europe.
