Volostrov is a small island in the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea . Administratively included in the Tersky district of the Murmansk region . The island is located just south of the entrance to Pine Bay.

The island is located in the north of the Kola Peninsula , 200 meters from the west coast of the Turiy Peninsula , separated from it by the Volostrovskaya Salma Strait.
It has an uneven oval shape with a length of 2 kilometers and a width of up to 1.5 kilometers in the middle. It is a granite rock 72 meters high, covered with a rare forest. The coast of the island has a reddish hue and is devoid of vegetation. [1] The eastern coast of the island is a low sandy cliff. In the western part of the island there is a small lighthouse . [one]
