Biography

September 28, 1923 Wojciech Nerykhlevsky joined the novice of the male monastic congregation of St. Michael the Archangel. December 8, 1924 Wojciech Nerykhlevsky took monastic vows . After graduating from the theological faculty of the Jagiellonian University on July 20, 1932, he was ordained a priest, after which he acted as prefect in the monastic house of the congregation of St. Michael the Archangel in Krakow. After the occupation of Poland began in the fall of 1939, he was responsible for the activities of the underground publishing house Powściągliwość i Praca, for which the Gestapo was arrested. At the beginning of 1942 he was sent to Auschwitz concentration camp , where he was executed on February 7, 1942.

On June 13, 1999 Wojciech Nerykhlevsky was beatified by Pope John Paul II in a group of 108 blessed Polish martyrs .
