Biography
Takashi Kako was born in 1947 . He started taking piano lessons at the age of seven. Subsequently, he received a master's degree in composition at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts.
The French government drew attention to the talented young composer, who made his debut as an improvised pianist in 1973 , and granted him a scholarship for a full three years of study at the Paris Conservatory. After graduating from the conservatory at 28, Kako received the highest distinction - the first prize in composition. Since then, Kako has been a constant success. In his youth, he became one of the leading musicians of the movement “Paris Free Jazz”. Having organized the Tok group, he writes music and performs with tours in different countries of the world.
Kako performed with his own concerts in more than 200 cities in 26 countries.
In the early 80s, Kako returned to Japan and completed the formation of his own style, which included classical and modern piano music, as well as elements of jazz. He began solo piano concerts and by 1990 became the most popular of modern Japanese classical pianists.
