Laid at the shipyard Boston Navy Yard , June 1, 1940 . Launched on May 25, 1940 , entered service on January 15, 1941 .
On July 13, 1943, the torpedo and artillery fire of the Japanese destroyers Mikazuki and Yukikaze in a battle near Kolombangar Island was very hard damaged. Left by the crew and sunk by the torpedo of the American destroyer DD-390 "Ralph Talbot" .
Expelled from the U.S. Navy on July 28, 1943 .
