Mandodári ( Sk . मंदोदरी ) is a character of the ancient Indian epic Ramayana , the beautiful and virtuous daughter of the king Danavov Mayasura and the celestial dancer Khemy. She is best known as the queen-spouse of the demonic ruler of Lanka Ravana and as the mother of Indrajit , the victorious ruler of the maidens Indra .
In Hinduism, Mandodari, along with Ahalya , Draupadi , Sita and Tara, is revered as one of the Panchakans, which symbolize the five elements of material nature. It is believed that simply by uttering the names of the Panchakans, you can be cleansed from all sins.
Mandor is located 32 km from Jodhpur in Rajasthan . It is believed that it was in this place that Ravana married Mandodari. In the city you can see the exact place where, according to the beliefs of Hindus, a wedding ceremony took place. Locals call this place “Rawandji ki chanvari”. The city is inhabited by brahmans who claim to be descendants of Ravana.
The name of the Mandodari ( Thai. ม ณ โฑ , monto) is associated with the standard name of the 17th letter of the Thai alphabet, Thomontho .
