Salavir is a village in the Navashinsky urban district of the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia. Until May 2015 [2] was part of the Natalinsky Village Council .

The village of Salavir is located from east to west, consists of two streets, located near the river Salaks .
Content
History
It was founded by the Mordovians, until the 9th-10th centuries. Salavir is a Mordovian toponym, which means "Forest robbers" [3] . The name of the village is called “Salavir Forests”, which are mentioned in the book by Melnikov-Pechersky “On the Mountains”: “ From the edge of old glorious forests of Murom, in the forest of Salavir ... ” [4] . Later, the village became a refuge for the Old Believers. In the middle of the 20th century, most of the inhabitants belonged to two surnames - Zuevs and Pantheevs.
Infrastructure
In the center of Salaviri there are a village council, a post office, shops, a school, a culture house (club), a monument to the villagers who died during the Great Patriotic War. At the western end of Salaviri there is a spring. Nearby is a road through which you can get into the village (bulk crushed stone).
