(66) Maya ( lat.Maja ) - an asteroid of the main belt , belonging to the dark spectral class C. It was discovered on April 9, 1861 by the American astronomer Horace Tuttle at the Harvard Observatory and named after Maya , the eldest of seven pleiades sisters in ancient Greek mythology [3] .
