Content
Geography
The village is located in the interfluve of the Yamansu and Ekhkechu rivers , at the foot of the Chalgatykort mountain, 15 km south of the regional center - Nozhai-Yurt and 95 km southeast of the city of Grozny .
The nearest settlements: in the north-east - the villages of Dattakh , in the south-west - the village of Alkhan-Khutor , in the west - the village of Sterch-Kerch and in the north-west - the village of Zandak-Ara [4] .
History
From 1944 to 1958, during the deportation of Chechens and Ingush and the abolition of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, the village was called Novo-Mechelt [5] [6] [7] , and was settled by Avars from the village of Mehelt of Dagestan .
After the restoration of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, in 1958, the Avars were resettled in the Yarmarkino farm, now the village of Novomekhelt, Novolaksky district of Dagestan, and the village was returned to its former name - Bulgat-Irzu.
