History
The Sol de America Club was founded on March 22, 1909 . Translated team name means the Sun of America .
Sol de America 12 times became the vice champion of Paraguay with only two championships. The fifth club in Paraguay’s history, Nacional is a 7-time champion, and Sol de America has the sixth highest number of titles (like Sportino Luqueno , which, however, has only four second places).
Six times the Sol de America took part in the Libertadores Cup . The best result is reaching the quarter finals in 1989 .
The club is located in the Obrero area of the suburb of Asuncion Villa Alice.
