Dimmit County ( eng. Dimmit County ) - a county of Texas , USA . The population at the 2000 census was 10,248 people. According to the US Census Bureau in 2008, the county’s population was 9,758. [1] The district center is Carrizo Springs . Dimmit County was formed in 1880 and is named after Philip Dimmit, one of the prominent figures of the Texas Revolution .
