Biography
Alikhan Samedov was born in Sumgayit in 1964 into the family of a musician from the Lerik region of Azerbaijan. He received his primary education in Sumgait ( 1971 - 1979 ). He continued his studies at the music school named after Samad Vurgun and the music school named after Nariman Narimanov. In 1986 he entered the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute , which he graduated in 1990 . He became famous for his virtuoso playing on the Azerbaijani wind instrument balabane, a variety of duduk . From 1993 to the present, he has been living in Turkey , being the musical director of the Kadikay Center for the Study of Folklore. She teaches at the Faculty of Folklore Eyuboglu Educational Institutions, is the responsible editor of programs on Azerbaijan in the television companies Samanyolu (STV) and Entertaiment TV.
He has performed with concert programs in Germany , France , Japan , Spain , Singapore , Macedonia , Kosovo , Romania , Greece and Bulgaria [1] .
In the creative repertoire of Alikhan Samedov, folk songs, popular songs of Azerbaijani composers Tofik Kuliyev and Alekper Tagiyev were used , in particular his famous musical composition “Sen gelmez aldun” (“You didn’t come”).
Alikhan Samedov’s book Balaban Method is being prepared for publication.
On May 27, 2018, the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Alikhan Samadov "For merits in the development of Azerbaijani culture" was awarded the honorary title People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan [2] .
Hobbies
He is fond of chess, teaches children to chess at the Erenkoy First School in Istanbul .
