Coal Chamber ( Russian Coal Warehouse ) is the debut studio album of the American nu-metal band Coal Chamber , released on February 11, 1997 via Roadrunner Records . Three singles were released from the album : Loco , Big Truck and Sway (the first two singles were released in 1997, and the third in 1998). The song “Loco” became the most famous of the group's repertoire. Later, these three compositions, as well as two more (“Oddity” and “Clock”) from this album will be included in the track list of The Best of Coal Chamber collection .

500,000 copies of the album were sold in the United States, and as a result, the American Association of Record Companies awarded the album gold certification, thus becoming the most successful release of the group [4] . In 1998, the album hit the 10th line of the American charts Top Heatseekers [5] , and the single “Loco” took the 81st place in the UK charts UK Singles Chart [6] .
In 2005, the album was reissued by Roadrunner Records . The special edition of the album includes 6 additional songs, a video for the song “ Loco ”, as well as 2 concert videos; these concerts were filmed at venues such as Whiskey a Go Go ( Los Angeles , California ) (this performance was included in the list of the “ Top 100 Performances ” by Kerrang! [7] ) and Maritime Hall ( San Francisco , California).
The sound of the album was inspired by the work of bands such as Korn and White Zombie [3] . Columnist Steve Huey from AllMusic put the album 3 stars out of 5 [3] . He criticized the riffs of Miguel Raskon, calling them not very original [3] .
