Petropavlovsk Uyezd is an administrative unit of the Omsk Region ( 1822 - 1838 ), the Akmola Region , the Omsk Region ( 1918 - 1919 ), the Omsk Province and the Akmola Province . Center - the city of Petropavlovsk . Until 1898, it was called the Peter and Paul District .

History
The Peter and Paul District in the Omsk Region existed in 1822-1838. It was again formed as part of the Akmola region in 1868 . In 1898 it was renamed the Peter and Paul County. In 1918, the Akmola region became known as the Omsk region, and in 1919 - the Omsk province. In 1921, the Peter and Paul County was transferred to the Akmola province of the Kyrgyz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , which remained until its abolition in 1928 .
Population
According to the 1897 census, 155.1 thousand people lived in the county. Including Kazakhs - 44.5%; Russians - 36.7%; Ukrainians - 13.1%; Tatars - 4.3%. In the city of Petropavlovsk lived 19 688 people. [3]
