He devoted much time to strengthening the fortifications of Smolensk , temporarily setting aside political affairs in Vilna , Krakow and Warsaw , where he rarely appeared. In March 1644 and in 1645 he took an active part in the meetings of the Senate of the Commonwealth. During the non-populace, he only arrived in Krakow in November to take part in the elections and sign the electoral diploma of Jan Casimir Vazy . During the coronation diet he raised for discussion issues relating to the defense of Smolensk. In 1650 he participated in the work of the commission established in Vilna on the financing of the army of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . In 1651 he was commissioner at the conclusion of peace with the Cossacks in the White Church , and then in negotiations with the Cossacks in 1659 . In 1653 he was appointed headman of the Zhmudsky .

During the Russian-Polish war of 1654-1667 he took part in hostilities. In 1655, he adopted the protectorate of Sweden, among others signing the Union of Kaydan . Later, the commissioner participated in diplomatic and peace negotiations with Russia ( 1660 , 1662 , 1664 ). Since 1659 he was in correspondence with Boguslav Radziwill regarding the possessions of the latter in the territory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. As part of the delegation of the Commonwealth, he signed the Andrusov Armistice in January 1667 , according to contemporaries, played a significant role in its conclusion. In 1668, including as a reward for concluding the Andrusovsky truce, Glebovich was appointed governor of Vilnius .
