The working volume (in the hydraulic drive) is the volume of the working fluid pumped by the volumetric pump or consumed by the volumetric hydraulic motor for one cycle of the hydraulic machine (for example, for one revolution of the shaft) [1] .
The pump flow or hydraulic motor flow rate is related to the displacement as follows (excluding leaks) [2] :
Where - nominal pump flow (for a hydraulic motor - nominal flow rate of a working fluid), - working volume of the hydraulic machine; n is the number of cycles of the hydraulic machine per unit time (for example, the shaft speed); k is the multiplicity of operation of the hydraulic machine, that is, the number of pressure and suction cycles per revolution of the shaft.
