General Description

Work at height includes work in which:

a) there is a possibility of a worker falling from a height of 1.8 m or more, including:

when an employee makes a climb to a height of more than 5 m, or descend from a height of more than 5 m on a ladder, the angle of inclination of which to a horizontal surface is more than 75 °;

when working on the sites at a distance closer than 2 m from non-enclosed differences in height of more than 1.8 m, and also if the height of the protective barrier of these sites is less than 1.1 m;

b) there are risks associated with the possible fall of the worker from a height of less than 1.8 m if the work is carried out on machines or mechanisms, the surface of a liquid or loose fine materials, protruding objects. " [1] .

Depending on the production conditions, all works at height are divided into:

a) work at height with the use of scaffolding (for example, scaffolding, scaffolding, towers, cradles, ladders and other scaffolding), as well as work performed on platforms with protective fences 1.1 m or more in height;

b) work without the use of scaffolding, performed at a height of 5 m and more, as well as work performed at a distance of less than 2 m from unprotected differences in height of more than 5 m at the sites in the absence of protective fences or at a height of protective fences that are less than 1, 1m.".

Work at height is a dangerous type of work, the production of which is associated with a large number of accidents [2] . When working at height, the main means protecting the worker from falling is a safety system consisting of a safety leash and a subsystem attached to insurance. Safety measures when working at heights are determined by the rules of labor protection .

A dangerous factor in work at height is the location of the workplace at a height from the ground, floor or other surface [3] and the associated possibility of the worker falling from a height or falling objects on the worker.

Personal Protective

When working at height, the main means protecting the worker from falling are: ASC. Helmets are used to protect the worker’s head. Gloves are on hands. Protective work suits, shoes with a protective toe cap are also used. All used PPE must have quality certificates , must be checked every day before work.
