Semenov Uyezd is an administrative-territorial unit within the Nizhny Novgorod province of the Russian Empire and the RSFSR , which existed in 1779-1929 . County town - Semenov .

History
Semenov Uyezd as part of the Nizhny Novgorod governorate was formed in 1779 during the administrative reform of Catherine II , which in 1796 was transformed into the Nizhny Novgorod province .
On January 14, 1929, the Nizhny Novgorod province and all its districts were abolished, most of the Semenovsky district became part of the Semenovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region .

Population
According to the 1897 census, 111,388 [1] people lived in the county. Including Russians - 99.9%. In the county town of Semenov , 3,752 people lived.
According to the results of the 1926 All-Union population census, the county population was 135,501 people [3] , of which the city population was 7,634.
