Burma at the 1956 Summer Olympics

Burma took part in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne ( Australia ) for the third time in its history, but did not win a single medal. Burma's athletes took part in boxing, athletics and weightlifting competitions and, for the first time in history, sailing. The youngest in the team was boxer Yaishwe Best (born July 6, 1939), the oldest was the yachtsman Kyi Khin Pe (born July 9, 1916). The delegation included 13 people, and the Olympic attache of Burma was chosen captain Tin Thein Lu [1] .
