Biography
Victor Dudkin was born on October 7, 1976 in the city of Ventspils of the Latvian SSR in the family of an officer of the border troops [1] .
In 1993, he graduated from the St. Petersburg Suvorov Military School , and in 1996 - from the Moscow Military Institute of the Federal Border Service of the Russian Federation , with the assignment of a lieutenant rank. Immediately after graduation, Dudkin was sent to serve in the Caucasus Special Border District. In 1997, Lieutenant V. Dudkin was enlisted in the ranks of employees of the Office “V” (“Vympel”) of the Special Purpose Center of the FSB of Russia [2] [3] . Among colleagues, for his small stature, Victor received the nickname "Kid" [4] .
“This is Andrey, and this is his subordinate Victor Dudkin,” Alexander Chirikhin shows the photograph. The picture shows two comrades, two friends ... - Vimpel has a very strict selection, and so Victor was good in all respects: smart, sociable ... But there was one trouble - he didn’t get jumps from a helicopter. This is precisely what served as the reason that Dudkin became a candidate for expulsion. But the guy wanted to serve and dreamed of serving in Vympel. Then Andrei Chirikhin , who was the group’s commander, turned to the head of the Center with the words that such people as Viktor should not be expelled. He agreed and, under Andrew’s responsibility, left the guy.
During the year, Major Chirikhin was with Viktor Dudkin "uncle." They spent all their free time, intensively practicing what did not always work out. Soon became great friends.
The co-workers recall that if two went on a business trip - Andryukha and Victor, then the business trip will certainly succeed [5] .
As the senior operational officer of the “B” Office, Viktor was repeatedly called upon to carry out special tasks to ensure constitutional order in the North Caucasus , as well as other special tasks assigned by the country's leadership.
In 2004, Major Dudkin was on a business trip in Ingushetia. On the night of June 22, 2004, several hundred militants under the command of Shamil Basayev attacked the city of Nazran [6] . Two Vimpela operational and combat groups, one of which was Viktor Dudkin, drove an BTR-80 and a Gazelle car from Vladikavkaz to help their comrades besieged by militants in the building of the Ingush FSB. On the outskirts of Nazran, special forces fell under fire and, dismounted, began to advance along the city streets in battle. In the area of the central market, they came across an ambush organized by bandits [7] . Viktor Dudkin was seriously injured, pulling out from under the fire his commander, Colonel Andrei Chernysh, who was killed by machine gun fire at the very beginning of the shootout [8] . The fight with the militants lasted about an hour, and only then the employees of the Office "B" were able to load Dudkin into an armored personnel carrier. However, Victor could not be saved: his injuries were fatal. Together with him, the captain of the Vympela medical service Vsevolod Zhidkov [9] , who covered Dudkin with his own body when the gunmen shot through an APC with a shot from an under-barrel grenade launcher [10] [8], died.

V. Dudkin was awarded departmental and state awards, including a diploma from the Director of the Federal Security Service of Russia, the medal "For Courage" , and registered melee weapons.
