Distribution and Ecology
In nature , the range covers the south-east of Australia - the hilly areas of the southern part of the central and northern parts of the southern coast of New South Wales , as well as the northeastern areas of Victoria . It is more common in alluvial lowlands. It grows rapidly on alluvial and red earth moderately moist soils. Over 17 years, trees on alluvial soil with a significant inclusion of pebbles reached a height of 25–29 m, with a trunk diameter of 50–60 cm.
When the temperature drops to -8 ° C, leaves and shoots are damaged, in winters with short-term frosts of 11-12 ° C it freezes to the root, prolonged frosts of 9-10 ° C are critical.
Crosses easily with other species. Artificial hybrids with Eucalyptus rod-like were obtained and natural hybrids with Eucalyptus globulus subsp were established. maidenii .
