Biography and career
Karnem, in addition to his achievements in billiards as a player and commentator, made a great contribution to the development of special glasses for playing snooker - it was in such glasses with extended lenses that Dennis Taylor won the World Cup in 1985.
As a player, Karnem was more successful in English billiards. He won national and world amateur championships (both in 1969), and, becoming a professional in 1970, a year later reached the final of the World Championship in English billiards. In the final, he lost to Leslie Driffield . In 1973, Jack repeated this result, but again lost the title, this time to Rex Williams . In 1980, Carnhem won his only title in professional billiards - the championship of Great Britain, defeating Rex Wilms in the final. In snooker, Jack did not achieve significant results.
In 1985, Jack Karnem released the Understanding Modern Snooker educational snooker movie. [one]
