Palau at the 2004 Summer Olympics

Palau participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece for the second time in its history, but did not win a single medal. The national team was represented by four athletes, including two women who took part in competitions in Greco-Roman wrestling, athletics and swimming.

Palau's national team at the Summer Olympic Games in Greco-Roman wrestling was represented by 38-year-old John Tarkong (Jr.), the numerous Olympic championship medalist. At the group stage, the wrestler from Palau twice lost by a large score to rivals from Kyrgyzstan and Bulgaria and dropped out of the further fight, taking the final 20th place.
