Biography

Born into a peasant family.

In 1947 he graduated from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks (in absentia), in 1955-1956. - Student of the courses of secretaries of regional committees and chairmen of regional executive committees under the Central Committee of the CPSU.

  • 1938–41 - Party organizer of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks (b) of the mine ( Stalin Region ).
  • 1941–43 - Secretary of the Gorlovsky underground city committee of the Communist Party (b) of Ukraine.
  • 1942–43 - First Secretary of the Stalin underground regional committee of the Communist Party (b) of Ukraine.
  • 1943–48 - Secretary of the Party Commission under the Stalin Regional Committee, Secretary of the Artyomovsk City Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Ukraine.
  • 1948-51 - Secretary, second secretary of the Stalin Regional Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Ukraine.
  • 1951–55 - Second Secretary of the Irkutsk Regional Committee of the CPSU (B.) - CPSU.
  • 1956-57 - Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Irkutsk Regional Council.
  • 1957–63 - First Secretary of the Irkutsk Regional Committee of the CPSU.
  • 1963–64 - First Secretary of the Irkutsk Rural Regional Committee of the CPSU.
  • 1964–68 - First Secretary of the Irkutsk Regional Committee of the CPSU.
  • 1968–73 - Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USSR in Mongolia.

Member of the CPSU since 1932. Member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1961-1975). Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 5-7 convocations.

Since 1973 - a personal pensioner of national importance.

He died in Moscow on December 6, 1975 . He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery .

Awards and titles

  • He was awarded two orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Sign, three orders of the Red Banner of Labor, as well as many medals of the Soviet Union and foreign government awards

Memory

  • On October 4, 2011, a memorial plaque was installed on the house where he lived in memory of Semyon Shchetinin [1] .
  • In Donetsk, in the Proletarsky district, there is Shchetinina street.
