Ziz [1] is a river in southern Morocco and western Algeria .

The source of the river is located in the mountains of the Middle Atlas , flowing south passes near the city of Garcelwin. After it flows through the districts of Heneg, Matgar and Reteb. It flows into a small drainage lake among the sands.
The total length of the river is about 282 km. It feeds on melting snow in the mountains and rains. River waters are used for irrigation . Several dams were built on the river.
